Description
A bold yet refined expression of Toro’s Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo). Sourced from 32-year-old vines in San Román de Hornija and Pedrosa del Rey, the wine reflects the region’s extreme climate and stony soils. Aged for 12 months in 80% French and 20% American oak, with a reduction in new barrels to enhance freshness, it boasts intense aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, chocolate, and cedar. The palate is rich and complex, offering notes of plum, black olives, clove, nutmeg, and leather, culminating in a long, fresh finish. Luis Gutiérrez of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate awarded it 94 points, praising its balance between power and elegance. With 15% alcohol, this wine is suitable for drinking now but can age gracefully through 2030.
