Description
One of Au Bon Climat’s most distinctive Chardonnays, capturing both the richness of California and the precision of Burgundy. Sourced from the legendary Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, its cool maritime influence preserves freshness even in the warmer 2020 vintage. The wine opens with aromas of lemon curd, white peach, toasted hazelnut, and subtle brioche. On the palate, it balances generous fruit with vibrant acidity, complemented by well-integrated oak and a long, saline finish.
Jim Clendenen’s hallmark style—elegant, restrained, and built for age—shines through. While already beautifully expressive, this Chardonnay will reward cellaring over the next 8–12 years as additional complexity emerges.
