Description
A striking expression of one of the village’s most esteemed Premier Cru vineyards. Nestled between Richebourg and Echézeaux, Suchots is renowned for marrying power with sensuality—and Girardin nails that balance in 2019. The wine unfurls with heady aromas of black cherry, star anise, and dried rose, followed by a palate that’s both plush and precise. There’s density here, but no heaviness—thanks to Girardin’s restrained extraction and use of larger oak barrels. It’s a wine that pulses with youthful energy yet already offers a glimpse of its silky future. Though approachable now with air, this will evolve beautifully through 2035. One of the finest expressions yet from a rising star with a serious Burgundian pedigree.
