Maison du Chancelier’s 2022 Meursault ‘Les Murgers’ is a distinguished white Burgundy crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes. The vineyard’s name, ‘Les Murgers,’ reflects the historic stone walls that define the region’s terroir. The 45-year-old vines thrive in stony, calcareous soils, imparting intensity and length to the wine. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes undergo meticulous sorting before fermentation in oak barrels without sulfur. The wine matures on its lees for approximately 12 months in 228L and 350L oak barrels, enhancing its complexity. This Meursault exhibits a green-gold hue that deepens with age, offering aromas of ripe fruit, roasted nuts, and floral notes, complemented by buttery, hazelnut, and honeyed flavors. Rich and full-bodied, it promises a long finish and significant aging potential, making it a quintessential expression of Meursault’s esteemed character.
