Description
The 2016 Benjamin Leroux Nuits-Saint-Georges is a muscular, serious Pinot full of structure and depth. Aromatically, aromas of wood toast and reduction give way to a backbone of fresh red fruit, while Allen Meadows noted “good freshness and verve … taut muscularity before concluding in a slightly dry, austere, lightly stony finish.” It has “abundant complexity … sticky roots … ripe raspberries, dry-seasoned with mulling.” This wine is not for the faint of heart—best approached by those who welcome tension and layers. Just about to enter its ideal drinking window, best enjoyment lies from around 2026 to 2035.
