Roc Breïa is the personal project of Theo Dancer, widely regarded as one of the most gifted young winemakers working in Burgundy today. The 2022 Pinot Noir is sourced from organically farmed parcels in the northern Maconnais, delivering a transparent, southern-leaning expression of Burgundian Pinot. Bright red cherry and wild strawberry are complemented by subtle spice, gentle savory notes and a fine mineral line. Bottled as Vin de France by choice, the wine reflects Dancer’s preference for freedom of approach over conformity to the Bourgogne AOC frameworks. Vinification is deliberately restrained, with light extraction and supple tannins that prioritize flow and drinkability. Fresh, precise and quietly assured, it drinks beautifully from release and should continue to develop over the next several years. Best served lightly chilled.
