The 2024 Scharzhofberger Kabinett from Egon Müller emerges from a demanding growing season in the Mosel, where uneven flowering and selective harvesting reduced yields dramatically. Production across the region was limited, making quantities especially scarce from this iconic Saar slope.
True to form, the wine captures Scharzhofberger’s blue slate precision. Lime zest, green apple and white peach glide over a spine of shimmering acidity, the sweetness finely calibrated and weightless.
There is immediacy here, but also quiet depth. Drink from 2027 onward, with the structure to evolve gracefully for two to three decades. A rare, crystalline expression born of a challenging year.
