Description
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars’ 2021 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the historic Stag’s Leap Vineyard, source of the 1973 Cabernet that won the 1976 Judgment of Paris. The 2021 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 21 months in 100% new French oak, with fruit drawn from key S.L.V. blocks including Block 4, planted in 1972. The estate describes the vintage as one of its highest quality of the last decade, with black currant, mocha, olive, fig, espresso, dark chocolate and blackberry reduction. Antonio Galloni noted a move toward greater refinement at the estate, while calling the wine a “muscular, deep Cabernet Sauvignon (that) hits all the right notes.” Drinking now through 2040 and beyond.
