Under the Tuscan Sun
Following the success of last week’s Super Tuscan offer - and with the AGFW family holiday to Chianti Classico just days away - it feels only fitting to highlight a few more Italian gems. This time, we’re focusing on the other side of Tuscany: Sangiovese. And for good measure, we’ve also included a Piedmont icon we couldn’t resist sharing. It’s not Sangiovese, but it is delicious—and very much Italian.
Sangiovese has long played second fiddle to Nebbiolo (the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco) in the world of fine wine collecting. But that’s starting to change. The first signs of this shift came from Chianti, where quality has improved dramatically over the past decade. Now, Brunello di Montalcino is undergoing a quiet revolution of its own, as a new generation brings fresh energy and vision—similar to what we’ve seen recently in Champagne and Burgundy.
At its best, Sangiovese deserves a place among the world’s great red grape varieties. It can deliver profound depth, complexity, and age-worthiness, all while maintaining an ethereal balance that makes it a joy to drink at every stage of its evolution. Below are three of our favorite recent releases—each one overdelivering today, and sure to improve for years to come.

White-Glove Concierge Delivery and Free In-Bond Transfers
One small change to the concierge delivery offer. Starting 12 July, deliveries inside the congestion zone will only be made on weekend mornings. For anyone impacted by this, please reach out and we can work out a solution.
And just a reminder that complimentary deliveries will happen this week (12 July) before the summer break. Concierge deliveries will resume on 16 August.
Outside London or need your wine quicker? No problem. Nationwide delivery is available via tracked, two-day shipping direct from our bonded warehouse at London City Bond. Just select your preferred option at checkout.
Transfers from London City Bond to other UK bonded warehouses are also on the house. These are batched and sent every few weeks, but if you’re in a hurry, I’m happy to arrange a faster transfer - just get in touch.
