Description
Bollinger’s 2012 La Grande Année is a towering vintage of this iconic Champagne—dense, vinous and shimmering with tension. Made from 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay sourced from 21 crus (mostly Aÿ and Verzenay), it was vinified entirely in oak barrels and aged under natural cork before disgorgement. The 2012 vintage’s low yields and long, cool growing season produced a wine of superb concentration and crystalline precision. William Kelley of The Wine Advocate called it “a superb La Grande Année… muscular and layered, with beautifully integrated acidity and a resonant, saline finish.” In magnum or larger, it is simply majestic. This rare 3L Jeroboam format promises an even slower evolution, ideal for cellaring through 2040 and beyond—an extraordinary centrepiece for collectors and celebrations alike.
