Description
A rare, benchmark dry white Bordeaux, produced in minute quantities from old vines rooted in gravel and clay-limestone soils beside Haut-Brion. The vintage shows a cooler, more linear profile, emphasising precision and mineral definition over overt opulence. Aromatically, it opens with citrus zest, pear and white peach, followed by notes of beeswax, fennel, subtle smoke and crushed stone. The palate is layered yet taut, with finely integrated oak lending texture and gentle breadth without obscuring freshness. A saline, chalk-inflected line carries the wine through to a long, composed finish. This is a serious, quietly powerful white built for both gastronomy and aging, offering complexity without heaviness. Drinking well with air today, it will continue to develop added nuance and savory detail from 2025 through 2038 and beyond.
