Description
The 2017 vintage in Chambolle-Musigny produced wines of aromatic clarity and immediacy, and this village bottling is a fine example. Domaine Coquard Loison-Fleurot draws on well-situated parcels on the border between Chambolle and Morey to craft a wine that balances fragrance with structure. Expect bright red cherry, raspberry and subtle floral tones, underpinned by gentle spice and finely knit tannins. This is the only wine in the CLF range that gets any whole bunch treatment during fermentation.
Jasper Morris, who gives the wine four stars, has often noted the domaine’s classical approach and focus on transparent fruit expression. In 2017, that philosophy translates into a wine of purity and poise, with freshness carrying the finish and lending lift to the supple mid-palate. It is approachable in youth yet retains the balance to age gracefully.
