Description
The 2017 vintage in Gevrey-Chambertin delivered wines of charm and aromatic definition, and this Charmes-Chambertin reflects that profile beautifully. Sourced from well-placed, 50 year old parcels in Mazoyères, it offers lifted red and black fruits, hints of violet and clove, and a fine mineral undertow. The texture is supple yet structured, combining immediacy with the framework expected of Grand Cru Burgundy.
Jasper Morris has noted the domaine’s reliable expression of terroir and classical balance, and in 2017 the wine shows admirable clarity and poise. There is depth without heaviness, and a long, gently structured finish that promises graceful development.
