Description
Crafted from old vines in some of Nuits-Saint-Georges’ finest lieux-dits, Nicolas Potel’s 2020 Vieilles Vignes is a thrilling expression of the village—intense, structured, and beautifully defined. The vintage’s sunny disposition adds ripe black cherry and wild strawberry notes, while the old vines bring depth, minerality, and fine-grained tannins. Raised with minimal intervention and sensitive oak, the wine offers both authenticity and finesse. William Kelley notes Bellene’s 2020s as “some of the most promising wines of the vintage,” and this cuvée shows particular balance between muscle and charm. Drinking well now with a decant, but it will reward cellaring for 8–15 years. An excellent value for serious Burgundy lovers seeking character and pedigree.
