Description
From one of Beaune’s most respected terroirs, the 2013 Les Grèves from Domaine des Croix is a study in precision and restraint. David Croix, formerly of Camille Giroud, brings a thoughtful, terroir-driven approach to this wine, which captures the elegant side of the 2013 vintage. Expect lifted aromas of redcurrant, rose petal, and dried herbs, with a fine-boned structure and cool-toned minerality that speaks to its limestone-rich soils. Though a cooler, later-harvest year, the wine shows beautiful definition and a savoury, persistent finish. Jasper Morris notes Croix’s “quiet confidence in 2013,” and praises the wine’s “classic proportions and subtle layering”. Now entering its prime, this is a finely poised, old-school Beaune Premier Cru, drinking well through 2028.
