Description
Petite Chapelle shines in 2021 as Trapet’s most complete and refined Premier Cru of the vintage. William Kelley describes it as “medium- to full-bodied, suave and elegant”, noting aromas of “dark berries, licorice, sweet soil tones and petals”, praising it as Trapet’s finest premier cru in 2021. The wine’s limestone-flecked site just below Chapelle-Chambertin lends lifted florals, fine structure and a mineral thread that runs the length of the palate. Whole-cluster nuance, gentle extraction and restrained oak amplify clarity and finesse. The result is a poised, quietly powerful expression that balances purity with depth. Expect it to open gracefully from 2026 and continue evolving into the late 2030s.
