Description
From one of Montalcino’s highest and most refined vineyards, the 2016 Brunello from Le Ragnaie is a masterclass in finesse and terroir transparency. Riccardo Campinoti’s approach—low yields, organic farming, and long aging in large botti—has yielded a wine that sings with purity. The 2016 vintage, already hailed as a modern classic, plays beautifully into Le Ragnaie’s hands: red cherry, blood orange, rose petal, and sandalwood aromas lead to a palate of elegant structure, silky tannins, and vibrant acidity. There’s a captivating interplay of brightness and depth, typical of the estate’s high-altitude sites. While utterly drinkable now with a decant, it promises to reward cellaring through 2040 and beyond.
