Description
From the maverick mind of Loïc Pasquet, Liber Pater Denarius 2019 offers a compelling entry into one of Bordeaux’s most radical winemaking projects. Made in minuscule quantities from ungrafted, ancient varietals in the gravelly soils of Graves, Denarius is the more accessible sibling to the mythical flagship Liber Pater, but still bears the hallmarks of Pasquet’s uncompromising philosophy: organic viticulture, amphora aging, and a fierce devotion to pre-phylloxera authenticity.
The 2019 vintage is perfumed and precise, offering wild herbs, red berries, crushed stones, and a whisper of iron-rich earth. Its fine-boned structure and vivid energy make it a fascinating departure from modern Bordeaux norms.
Drinking beautifully now with a short decant, it will reward cellaring through 2032. Only a few thousand bottles made—an essential collectible for lovers of the avant-garde.
