Description
Maison du Chancelier’s 2022 Beaune Premier Cru ‘Les Bressandes’ is a distinguished red Burgundy crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The ‘Les Bressandes’ climat is situated on the upper slopes of the Beaune hillside, characterized by shallow, stony clay-limestone soils that impart complexity and elegance to the wine. The 30-year-old vines are traditionally managed with dense planting of 10,000 vines per hectare and Guyot simple pruning. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes undergo meticulous sorting and are vinified without sulfur in 500-liter oak barrels, employing gentle extraction methods at moderate temperatures. The wine matures on its lees for approximately 12 months in oak barrels, enhancing its depth and character. This Premier Cru exhibits a vibrant ruby hue, with aromas of red berries, subtle earthiness, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of fruit and minerality, with fine tannins and a lingering finish. ‘Les Bressandes’ exemplifies the finesse and precision characteristic of the Beaune Premier Cru appellation.
