Description
Pagodes de Cos 2017 is a beautifully refined second wine from Cos d’Estournel, showcasing the elegance of the vintage. The 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot blend delivers a deep garnet-purple hue with an enticing nose of blackcurrant, plums, violets, and graphite, laced with hints of cedar, tobacco, and crushed stones. The palate is medium-bodied yet concentrated, with finely grained tannins and a core of dark berries, licorice, and spice. A fresh, lifted acidity balances the ripe fruit, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish with a touch of mocha and dried herbs. Less opulent than warmer vintages, the 2017 offers precision and poise, making it an earlier-drinking yet structured expression of Saint-Estèphe terroir. Drink now or age gracefully for another 10-15 years.
