Description
From a rising star in Burgundy, Pierre Girardin’s 2020 Pommard Les Vignots is a thrilling expression of this elevated lieu-dit. Perched above the village on limestone-rich soils, Les Vignots consistently delivers finesse over brute force—and in Girardin’s hands, that elegance shines. The 2020 vintage brings ripe red cherry, wild herbs, and subtle spice, underpinned by fine tannins and a lifted, mineral finish. Aged in 456L Chassin barrels for subtle oak integration, this is modern Pommard at its most graceful. Neal Martin (Vinous) noted Girardin’s 2020s “capture purity and precision with admirable consistency,” and this cuvée is no exception. Accessible in youth with air, but structured enough to evolve through 2030. A poised, seductive red Burgundy from one of the Côte de Beaune’s most promising young talents.
